TEB selects consortium to build LRT line T2 in Bergamo

Bergamo-based public transport operator TEB has selected a consortium of four companies as the preferred bidder to design and build the 11.5 km light rail transit (LRT) line T2 from Bergamo railway station to Villa d’Almè. The consortium comprises Impresa Milesi Geom Sergio, Generale Costruzioni Ferroviarie, Impresa Edile Stradale Artifoni and Skoda Transportation. The corresponding contract worth €176 million is expected to be signed in the coming weeks. The design phase is expected to take around five months, with main construction works to begin by the end of 2023. Opening is planned for September 2026, and according to TEB this will provide an opportunity to rethink local transport services in the Bergamo area.
