Requirements for a combustion:

There must Always be Oxygen, because without Oxygen, no combustion is possible. Under normal conditions, the Nitrogen reacts neither with Oxygen nor with the fuel. Combustions with pure Oxygen are extremly fast and heavy. This causes an explosion hazard.
