Sweco and Typsa to design new metro line in Stockholm

A consortium consisting of engineering company Sweco and its Spanish partner Typsa has been awarded a contract worth around €21.6 million (SEK 250 million) to design the new metro line to Nacka in the east of Stockholm. Under the contract, both companies are responsible for construction supervision, construction coordination and technical support for all utilities. Sweco has already been awarded several similar contracts for the metro in Stockholm since 2014. The project for the new 11.5 km line from the existing Kungsträdgården station in the centre of Stockholm to the municipality of Nacka in the east of Stockholm has been underway since November 2023, and the line is scheduled to open in 2030.
