Transport technology supplier Siemens Mobility and UK security technology specialist Tended have entered a partnership, under which Siemens will use Tended’s wearable technology to improve the safety of its trackside teams with geofencing technology. Through the partnership, Tended will work closely with Siemens to integrate geofencing into its current systems and processes to help improve the safety of its workers and more effectively manage on-track assets. Siemens will implement geofencing across locations around Northumberland, in the Eastern region and around Welwyn on the East Coast Main Line (ECML). Devices will be used when working within possessions and separated sites of works to help Siemens comply with safety standards.
