Routing of Dresden – Prague HSR line confirmed

The region and the German federal state of Saxony have confirmed the selection of the preferred routing for the Dresden – Prague high-speed rail (HSR) line. This planning includes a tunnel of around 30 km in length through the Ore Mountains. As part of the preliminary planning, German state railway DB recently incorporated feedback and requirements from the region, including 12 comments from local authorities and ministries. The comments relate to factors such as compensation areas, noise protection measures, and construction logistics. Demands that go beyond what is required by law will be submitted to the German parliament in summer 2024 for a decision on funding and implementation.
