RFI launches tenders worth over €25.5 billion in 2022

Italian infrastructure operator RFI recorded more than €25.5 billion in new tenders and €15 billion in contracts awarded in 2022. Due to the conflict in Ukraine and the resulting increase in material costs, 2022 was a challenging year for RFI. Despite this, the tenders planned in 2021 were exceeded by €10 billion, a 64% increase. RFI issued 283 new tenders, exceeding the 2022 ceiling of €21 billion. Of these, more than €10 billion were contracts for work in the area of the National Plan for Reconstruction and Resilience (PNRR). Contracts worth more than €10 billion were awarded, half of which were through PNRR. In December 2022 alone, 46 contracts were tendered for more than €8 billion.
