RFI awards construction contracts and launches tenders for infrastructure

Italian infrastructure authority Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI) has awarded three construction contracts worth a total of €836 million and launched tenders for six additional work packages worth €904 million. The procurement covers a wide range of infrastructure improvements, all under RFI's European Union-supported Recovery and Resilience Fund-funded Strategic Intervention Programme. The largest contract awarded is the design and build contract for the upgrading of the Piadena – Mantova line worth €470 million and the implementation of a junction worth €253 million. Both contracts were awarded to consortia in which Salcef is involved. The third contract in the package includes an agreement worth €113 million with D'agostino Angelo Antonio Costruzioni Generali and SE.GE.CO to build a link to Bergamo airport. Work on the new line is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026.
