Reaalprojekt to design Haapsalu – Rohuküla line section

Estonian infrastructure manager Eesti Raudtee signed a contract with Reaalprojekt at the end of March 2023 for the design of the 7.4 km line section between Haapsalu and Rohuküla. The contract is worth just under €344,000. The design works include the design of the embankment, tracks, platform and car park in Rohuküla, as well as associated infrastructure, connecting roads, overpasses and footpaths, fencing, and necessary facilities and environmental improvements. The contract also includes the design of a completely new section in Haapsalu, bypassing the old terminus, and a new bridge. The design of the line section, including the construction permit, is scheduled to be completed in February 2024. In 2022, the main designs for the Turba – Risti section were completed and construction permits were granted. By the first quarter of 2024, all projects for the Turba – Haapsalu – Rohuküla sections will thus be completed and have a building permit.
