PKP PLK to have Kepno – Olesnica line modernised and electrified

Polish infrastructure operator PKP PLK has signed a contract for the modernisation and electrification of the Kepno – Olesnica line. As part of the project, passenger trains will run on the line again from 2026 after more than 20 years of standstill. The investment amounts to around €140 million (PLN 600 million) net and will be financed by the National Infrastructure Reconstruction and Improvement Plan. The work includes the reconstruction of 53 km of track and the construction of 46 km of overhead line. Eight stations and stops are to be rebuilt. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-2026.
