Network Rail selects six companies to develop remote track condition monitoring strategy

The UK infrastructure operator Network Rail has contracted a total of six companies to develop and test a strategy for remote monitoring of track condition. The aim is to provide early detection of track sections at risk of buckling due to hot weather. The selected companies include Ove Arup & Partner, DSRailTech, RailSense Solutions, University of Leeds, Wisen Innovation UK and Yeltech. The technology strategies will be tested on a test rig and, if successful, trialled on a railway line.
