The Italian Ministry for Sustainable Infrastructure and Mobility, the Italian infrastructure manager RFI and the regions of Umbria and Tuscany have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to connect the regions to the high-speed rail (HSR) network. For this purpose, the new Medio Etruria station is to be built on the Florence – Rome HSR line. Technical studies are being realised to compare various possible locations. The working group set up for this purpose should complete its work within six months.
