The technology company Kontron based in Linz has concluded contracts in the railway sector in Ireland, Austria, and Slovenia worth over €100 million. In Ireland and Austria, Kontron will ensure the ongoing further development of GSM-R train radio on the networks of the state railways IE and ÖBB until the complete switchover to the successor system FRMCS. In Slovenia, Kontron will develop and commission GSM-R for the Divača – Koper railway line. The system design provides for integration into the Slovenian GSM-R network. The Divača – Koper line connects the Koper freight harbour to the Slovenian and European railway network.
