HS2 launches 6th Innovation Accelerator programme

The UK's High Speed Rail (HS2) project promoter, in partnership with the Connected Places Catapult, has launched its sixth Innovation Accelerator programme to identify innovative technologies for the infrastructure construction sector. The programme is aimed at new and existing technology companies to propose solutions to speed up design, automate construction handover and strengthen the circular economy of site deconstruction at the end of a project. Up to six companies can apply for the programme until 28th April 2024 and will join in June 2024. After five months of development, the companies' solutions will then be presented to investors and the HS2 supply chain. Construction of the HS2 high-speed rail (HSR) line, which will connect London and Birmingham, is already well underway and is expected to almost halve the journey time between the UK's two largest cities. The first phase of the line between London and the West Midlands is due to open between 2029 and 2033.
