Government plans joint applications for EU funds for railway projects

Serbia is planning joint applications with other countries from the region for funding from the European Union (EU) for the development of transport infrastructure, especially in rail transport. This was announced by the Minister of Construction, Transport, and Infrastructure. The projects include a planned joint bid with Northern Macedonia for the extension of the 135 km line from Nis to Presevo. There is also an agreement with Bosnia and Herzegovina for the reconstruction project of the Belgrade – Sarajevo line. With Bulgaria, preparations are underway for a new railway line connecting the port of Vidin with Zajecar and Negotin. In addition, the line to the Romanian border is being restored, and the restoration of the part of the Belgrade – Bar railway line with Montenegro is also planned. These projects aim to connect the countries of the region more closely.
