Geocontrol reviews bids for major Montcada i Reixac project in Barcelona

Spanish railway infrastructure manager Adif has selected engineering company Geocontrol as independent expert to study and evaluate the two most economical bids for the construction of the Montcada i Reixac project. The major project in Barcelona worth €621 million received bids from four joint ventures (JV): Comsa/FCC/Ferrovial, Dragados/Tecsa/ACSA/San José, OHLA/Sacyr/Acciona/Rubau, and Vías y Construcciones/Copisa/Azvi/Ingeniería y Servicios. The Comsa/FCC/Ferrovial JV received the highest technical score. Adif had requested justification from two groups for the bids with low economic risks and now intends to have the responses reviewed. The contract for the integration of the Rodalies line R2 in Barcelona through Montcada i Reixac with a tunnel of about 4 km and the new station will then be awarded according to the ranking established after the audit, based on the best value for money.
