Extension approved of M4 metro in Milan

The extension of the M4 metro line to Segrate in Milan has made significant progress with the approval of the technical and economic feasibility plan on 30th November 2023. The estimated cost of the project is €470 million. The project has received funding of €420 million from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, with additional funding of over €44 million needed to cover the rising cost of materials. The City of Milan has also received a European grant of €3.5 million to help fund the final project design. The extension of the M4 line includes two additional stops from Linate Airport to Segrate, with an intermediate stop in Idroscalo-San Felice. The work should be completed by 2024.
