ERJU to fund maglev projects

As part of the EU research initiative Europe's Rail Joint Undertaking (ERJU), 15 private and public companies and institutions have joined together under the MaDe4Rail project to promote magnetic levitation (maglev) technology. The companies include the German Aerospace Centre (DLR), and several infrastructure and software companies from Italy and the Netherlands. These have now committed to driving forward the development and implementation of maglev technology. The project, which focuses on the use of magnetic levitation technology for rail transport, is part of the EU's efforts to modernise the transport sector. It aims to improve the efficiency and sustainability of rail transport. The exact timeframes and financial details of the project have not been disclosed.
