Contract signed for first section of Rail Baltica line

The project company Rail Baltica Estonia has signed a contract worth €34.2 million with Trev-2 Grupp and AllSpark for the construction of the first section of the Rail Balitca high-speed rail (HSR) line in Estonia. The European Union's Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) funding programme will provide 85% of the financing. Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2024, and completion is planned for mid-2027. The new section will be 4.8 km long and will run from the east side of the new Tallinn Ülemiste railway station to the junction with Lagedi Street in Soodevahes. The section also includes the partial construction of the Ülemiste railway station site and the partial construction of the railway element of a new car loading terminal.
