The Supervisory Board of Polish infrastructure operator PKP PLK has dismissed the entire Management Board and appointed interim successors. This decision was taken at a meeting on 15th February 2023 and concerns the Chairman of the Management Board, Ireneusz Merchel, as well as all other members of the Management Board. As an interim solution, the Supervisory Board appointed Piotr Wyborski as Chairman of the Executive Board and Maciej Kaczorek and Piotr Kubicki as members of the Executive Board. The Supervisory Board has also started the procedure for filling the position of Chairman of the Management Board and is inviting applications from qualified candidates. The decision follows a series of redundancies at other state-owned companies such as PKP Cargo and CPK.
