Adif invites bids to build freight line in Valencia area

The Spanish rail infrastructure manager Adif has invited bids for the construction of a crossing branch line exclusively for international rail freight in the Valencia region. The 750 m long line in European standard gauge is to link the Sant Lluís – Almussafes rail freight bypass with the Valencia – Alicante (Mediterranean corridor) high-speed rail (HSR) line on the Picassent – Alcásser section when passing through Almussafes. The contract, worth more than €2.8 million, includes the construction of the substructure as well as supply, logistics, track construction, and electrification of the line.
