Tata Projects to build 5 stations for Chennai Metro

Chennai Metro Rail Ltd (CMRL) has awarded a contract to Tata Projects to build five underground stations on the fifth line of Chennai Metro. The contract, worth €207 million (INR 18.2 billion), covers the construction of Kolathur Junction, Srinivasa Nagar, Villivakkam, Villivakkam Bus Terminus, and Villivakkam MTH Road stations, and is funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). With this contract, CMRL has awarded all the construction and track contracts for the second phase of the project, which includes a 116.1 km metro network along three lines.
