Systra, RITES and DB win consultancy contract for airport metro line in Hyderabad

German state railway DB, French transport consultancy Systra and consultancy Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) have been appointed as general consultants by the promoter Hyderabad Airport Metro Ltd for the construction of the new Airport Express Metro line between Hyderabad Airport and Raidurg. The contract, worth €11.2 million (INR 985 million), includes the review of project reports and designs, tender preparation and award, and supervision of construction works. The construction of the 31 km metro line is part of the second phase of the Hyderabad extension project and is scheduled for completion in 2026. The Airport Line will connect to the Blue Line at Raidurg and unlike the existing metro network, the metro line will be partially underground.
