State government decides on Mumbai – Hyderabad HSR line

The government of the Indian state of Maharashtra has decided in favour of the construction of a high-speed rail (HSR) line between Mumbai and Hyderabad, and thus against the construction of a proposed Hyperloop line between Mumbai and Pune. The 711 km Mumbai – Pune – Hyderabad HSR line is planned to have 11 stations, and is one of the eight planned HSR lines across India. India's National High Speed Railway Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has been appointed to prepare a project plan. The HSR line would reduce the travel time between Mumbai and Hyderabad from the current 12-14 hours to just three hours.
