Siemens and RVNL win order to electrify Mumbai Metro Line 2B

A consortium of railway technology supplier Siemens and Indian state-owned company Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) have been awarded a contract for the electrification of Mumbai Metro Line 2B by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). Siemens's share in the project is €2.5 million (INR 228 million) and RVNL's is €1.6 million. Siemens will manufacture, install, and put into operation rail electrification solutions and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems covering 20 stations and one depot. RVNL will put into operation the Receiving Substations (RSS).
