Seven consortia comprising 31 companies have submitted their strategy proposals for the Kuala Lumpur – Singapore High-Speed Rail (HSR) project to the project company MyHSR. The submission of the strategy proposals was in response to the Request for Information (RFI) launched by MyHSR in July 2023. The results of the RFI evaluation will be submitted to the Ministry of Transport and the Cabinet for consultation. If the response is favourable, the second phase will begin with a Request for Proposals (RFP) to obtain detailed proposals from the selected consortia. Due to lack of financial guarantees from the Malaysian government, major Japanese companies have withdrawn their participation in the HSR project.
