Negotiations with UAE on Bosporus project

Turkey is negotiating with Abu Dhabi's sovereign wealth fund over a railway project on the Bosporus strait that would link Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. The line would pass over the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge in Istanbul, which was built with an investment of €2.8 billion (US$3 billion). This project is part of several potential agreements between Turkey and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which allocated €48.4 billion in support for the Turkish economy in July 2023. The UAE government plans to double trade with Turkey to €38.0 billion by 2030.
