LTA awards CPe contract to JV

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) of Singapore has awarded the final civil engineering contract for the design and construction of Elias station and related tunnels under the Cross Island Line - Punggol Extension (CPe) project to a joint venture (JV) of construction companies CES_SDC and Chip Eng Seng Contractors. The Elias station contract is valued at around €394 million (SG$562 million) and the awarding of the contract completes the appointment of contractors for all of the four stations Punggol, Riviera, Elias, and Pasir Ris on the 7.3 km CPe line section. Elias station will be built underground at a depth of about 40 m, and with five entrances. Construction work on the station and associated tunnels is expected to start in the second quarter of 2023, with the aim of passenger services beginning in 2032. The CPe section branches off the first phase of the Cross Island Line (CRL) at Pasir Ris station.
