JICA grants loans of €1.15 billion for three projects

The government of Bangladesh has signed a loan agreement worth €1.15 billion (JP¥165.3 billion) with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for a total of three projects. The loan will have a 30-year repayment period with a 10-year grace period, and a 0.01% annual interest rate. The projects include the double-tracking of the single-track line between Joydebpur and Ishurdi, the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar Highway Improvement Project and the Matarbari Port Development Project, for which €735.19 million (JP¥105.36 billion) has been allocated.
