Hedjaz Railway to build Zarqa – Airport rail line

Jordanian railway company Hedjaz Railway has presented plans for a potential new rail line between Zarqa and the country's international airport. The new line would be 65 km long and transport between 40,000 and 50,000 passengers a day. Hedjaz Railway is financially independent and generates its own income from investments and completed projects. The company currently operates passenger and freight services on the 1,300 km line between Amman in Jordan and Damascus in Syria. Timetable and costs for the project have not yet been announced.
