Government committed to LRT network in Trabzon

The Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure has underlined its commitment towards the construction of a light rail transit (LRT) network in the port city of Trabzon in the north-east of the country. According to the ministry, a first line could be operational at the end of 2025. According to initial plans presented in 2022, the 7.8 km first line would run along the coastal road between the city’s Meydan main square and the Sehir Hastanesi hospital in the west, along 18 stations.
