On 26th March 2023, the 13.7 km extension of the Purple metro line in Bengaluru was opened for commercial service. The extension runs along 11 stops from Krishnarajapura to Whitefield. The extension has cost around €473.4 million (INR42.5 billion). A link between the new extension and the Purple Line in Baiyyappanahalli is currently under construction and is scheduled to open in June 2023.
