CR completes three major projects

Chinese state railway CR completed three major railway projects in China in December 2023. Firstly, CR opened the 101 km Jinxing intercity railway line on 18th December 2023. The high-speed rail (HSR) line connects Tianjin with the Beijing Daxing International Airport and includes four new stations. The line has a maximum speed of 250 km/h and the fastest service between Tianjin West and Daxing Airport takes 41 minutes. On 8th December 2023, the 208 km Jinan – Puyang section of the 407 km Jinan – Zhengzhou HSR line was opened, marking the completion of the HSR project. The line serves Jinan and Liaocheng in Shandong Province as well as Puyang, Anyang and Xinxiang in Henan Province. The maximum speed on the new line is 350 km/h, which reduces the journey time to just under 1 hour 30 minutes. On 2nd December 2023, test operations began on the 47 km Fangdong railway line, which runs from Fangchenggang North on the Qinfang line southwest to Dongxing City on the Vietnamese border. The line has a design speed of 250 km/h and an operating speed of 200 km/h. In addition, construction of the 315 km Guizhou Huangtong – Guangxi Baise conventional railway line began on 8th December 2023. The 160 km/h line is scheduled for completion within five years.
