Contract awarded for electrification of the HSR line Mumbai – Ahmedabad

A consortium consisting of the Japanese company Sojitz and the Indian construction company Larsen & Toubro has been awarded the contract by the National High Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL) for the electrification of the entire 508 km long high-speed rail (HSR) line between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The contract is worth €1.2 billion (INR 108.6 billion). The project includes the design, manufacture, supply, construction, installation, and commissioning of a 25 kV electrification system designed for speeds of up to 320 km/h and based on the Japanese Shinkansen traction power supply system. All construction contracts for the project have now been awarded.
