The groundbreaking ceremony for the Wirye Light Rail Transit (LRT) line in Seoul took place on 13th April 2023. The 5.4 km line is scheduled to open in 2025 and will have 12 stations. The line will be operated with five-car low-floor Light Rail Vehicles (LRV). Construction of the line was approved in late 2022 and is the first LRT project in South Korea in 57 years.
