Alstom opens signalling technology centre

Alstom has opened its largest centre of excellence for the development of next-generation signalling technologies in Bangalore. The facility, built over ten years with a total investment of €40 million, serves as a centre for research and development (R&D) of signalling technologies and implementation of over 120 projects in India and globally. With this facility, the manufacturer has the largest signalling laboratory infrastructure in India, spanning over 60,000 m². Alstom will use the centre of excellence to conduct centralised demonstrations of operations centres, remote monitoring, and troubleshooting of signalling systems and the use of new technologies including artificial intelligence, big data, smart maintenance, LTE, and cyber security.
