STB approves Victorville – Las Vegas HSR line

The US Surface Transportation Board (STB) has approved the construction and operation of a modified route for the planned high-speed rail (HSR) line between Victorville and Las Vegas. The modified alignment by long-distance passenger rail operator Brightline West now mitigates or avoids potential environmental impacts. In addition, Brightline West has been authorised to build and operate an 80 km extension from Victorville to Rancho Cucamonga. The new line will be reserved exclusively for high-speed trains (HST). 25 HSTs will run daily in each direction.
