The US subsidiary of UK infrastructure consultant Network Rail Consulting has been awarded a contract to provide systems engineering services for a high-speed rail (HSR) project in California. The contract worth €67.2 million (US$73.2 million) and awarded by the California High Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA) runs until May 2029. The consultancy, owned by UK rail infrastructure operator Network Rail, will support the HSR project in areas including asset management, rail engineering, design and construction, operations and maintenance oversight, network integration and start of operations, Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) approval, system safety and commercial support for track, systems, and train contracts. Network Rail Consulting is supported by international consulting companies Egis and Ricardo, as well as six local California companies.
