FTA invests €9 billion to improve public transport

The US Federal Transit Administration (FTA) has announced that it is providing €9 billion (US$9.9 billion) in federal funding to improve public transport systems across the country. This funding is aimed at increasing access and quality of transport services. The funding will be used to maintain the operation of trains, buses and ferries, modernise infrastructure such as stations and tracks, plan and design new transport corridors, and improve accessibility for older people and passengers with disabilities.
