According to the Secretariat of Transport and Urban Mobility (Setram), modernisation works for the first section of the Santa Teresa light rail transit (LRT) network in Rio de Janeiro have been completed. The modernised section runs between the Paschoal Magno and Constante Jardim streets. All remaining works are expected to be completed within a year. As part of the measures, 145 m of permanent track have been rebuilt and another 230 m were concreted, new tracks were installed. Along the section, the first three concrete masts were also installed, replacing the iron ones.
