Consorcio Pacífico ED, a joint venture (JV) between DB Engineering & Consulting (E&C) and French company Egis, signed a contract on 26th May 2023 to prepare pre-feasibility studies and designs for the Pacific Rail Corridor in Colombia. The corridor will revitalise the disused former freight corridor and be designed as a mixed rail transport corridor. The aim is to significantly improve the efficiency and competitiveness of freight transport in Colombia, and to create new mobility alternatives for people. The corridor will be about 850 km long, and will connect the Pacific port of Buenaventura with the central rail corridor.
