Metrolinx, the operator for the Toronto and Hamilton area, has awarded infrastructure consultant Aecom Infrastructure Management a contract for programme management, consulting, commercial management, procurement and supply chain management, and project oversight for the Eglinton Crosstown West (ECWE) Light Rail Transit (LRT) Extension and awarded Aecon Infrastructure Management a contract to design and construct a 1.5 km elevated section of the LRT. The extension will add 9.2 km to the existing 19 km LRT. The line will run from the future Mount Dennis Station to Renforth Drive and include seven stations.
