Consortium wins contract to maintain La Dorada – Chiriguaná corridor

On 10th July 2023, Colombia's National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) awarded the San Felipe Férreo consortium a contract to continue maintaining the 522 km La Dorada – Chiriguaná railway corridor for one year. In parallel, a public-private partnership (PPP) project is being structured and awarded for the same line. The contract, worth €64.0 million (US$71.715 million), covers the maintenance, preservation, and improvement of the corridor, which connects the interior of the country with the Caribbean zone. The works include repairs and maintenance of stations and warehouses, and installation of signalling systems. In 2023, more than 104,000 t of freight were transported on the line. ANI is currently structuring a ten-year PPP with the support of the National Development Finance (FDN) with an investment volume of almost €2.2 billion.
