CG-JFJ consortium to build Orange Line on Brasília's metro network

On 7th February 2024, the government of the Brazilian Federal District named the CG-JFJ consortium, consisting of CG Construções and JFJ Tecnologia em Instalações Elétricas, as the winner of a construction contract worth around €60.3 million (BRL 319.7 million) to extend the Orange Line of Brasília's metro network. The project includes a 3.6 km extension south-west of the current Ceilandia terminus to Samambaia. The contract includes the construction of two new stations and other fixed facilities for the new line extension, including a substation. Formal approval of the contract is still pending and is subject to the usual standstill period. If no objections are raised, the approval and signing of the contract is planned for March 2024, with completion within four years.
