Bosnia and Herzegovina's state railway ZFBH has launched tenders for design studies for the construction of a 50 km railway line between Banovici and Vares. The line would shorten the distance between the coal mines in Banovici and the Adriatic ports. The project also includes the realignment of the Podlugovi – Vares and Zivinice – Banovici lines.
