Wabtec acquires Super Metal

US rail technology supplier Wabtec has reached a definitive agreement to acquire Super Metal, a Brazilian supplier of track maintenance equipment. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Super Metal is located in the city of Governador Valadares in the state of Minas Gerais, and for 30 years has supplied a wide range of automated vehicles and equipment for infrastructure maintenance, including vehicles for rail and sleeper maintenance as well as wagon movers. The company also specialises in machining, services, development and project implementation for railway lines throughout Brazil.
