Voestalpine Jez to supply switches for HSR connection of La Llagosta intermodal terminal

Spanish rail infrastructure operator Adif has awarded a contract to Voestalpine Railway Systems Jez for the connection of the La Llagosta intermodal transport terminal to the Mediterranean corridor. The Voestalpine Group's Spanish rail infrastructure components specialist is to supply 27 mixed-gauge switches for ballast tracks, a further three conventional standard-gauge switches, and four high-speed rail (HSR) exit devices, one with a 1,000 mm stroke and two with a 500 mm stroke in Iberian or standard gauge. The supply and transport contract for the equipment to connect the terminal to the standard-gauge HSR line is worth €7.5 million, and has an execution period of 24 months.
