A joint venture (JV) between the construction companies Ferrovial and Vinci Construction has been awarded a €4.4 billion tunnelling project in Toronto by transit developer Metrolinx for the city’s Ontario line. Set to last more than seven years (89 months), the JV will bore 6 km twin tunnels and build seven stations, six of them underground. Furthermore, the JV is responsible for the financing during the construction phase.
