The Ukrainian state railway UZ electrified a total of 82 km of track and modernised 470 km in 2022. With the electrification of 82 km of tracks in 2022, UZ reached a record value for the last ten years. According to Oleksandr Kamyshin, chair of the board of UZ, only 3 km of tracks were electrified per year on average in the period from 2013 to 2020. In addition, 25 of the 69 bridges destroyed during the war were rebuilt.
