Tunnelling began on 7th October 2022 for a 5.7 km extension of the SkyTrain metro network's Millennium Line in Vancouver. The Broadway Subway project will run from VCC-Clark to Arbutus and will have seven stops. Construction on the underground stops will begin as soon as tunnel boring is complete. This will be followed by the laying of the tracks and support systems before the line is tested and put into service. The fully automated SkyTrain network will be extended from 80 km to 106 km in length by 2028, with 41 new metros expected to be in service by the end of 2027.
