SZ tenders planning of Prague – Brno HSR line section

Czech infrastructure operator SZ has invited tenders for the planning of the next section of the planned high-speed rail (HSR) line from Prague to Brno. The contract for the VRT Vysočina II section covers the 90 km from Světlá nad Sázavou to Velká Bíteš, including a branch to the centre of Jihlava. This line will become the main connection between Prague and Brno and is also central to connecting the administrative centre of Vysočina to the Czech HSR network. SZ's procurement procedure is based on the best price-performance ratio method, which will be applied throughout the competition. The section is part of the Prague – Brno – Ostrava HSR line and connects to the VRT Střední Čechy and VRT Vysočina I sections. The project also includes the reconstruction of a junction in Jihlava and the modernisation of the existing line from Velké Meziříčí to Kozlova. All three components of the project will be subject to a separate environmental impact assessment.
